'Anderson' opening ratings inconclusive

The launch Monday of Anderson Cooper's syndicated daytime talker "Anderson" averaged 1.1/3 in households, as it fought off coverage of the U.S. Open men's tennis championship in certain high-profile markets, including New York and Boston.The atypical premiere situation, brought about by rain delays over the past week at the tennis matches in New York, will add to analyst caution as far as constructing an initial assessment of the performance of Warner Bros.' "Anderson."Among women 25-54, "Anderson" delivered a 0.6/3, ranking No. 1 in the demo for its timeslot in such markets as Dallas, Washington D.C., Minneapolis, Orlando and Pittsburgh.By comparison, returning syndie talker "Ellen" averaged a 2.6 among households in its season premiere, 1.5 in women 25-54.
